Yep, it's a powder day, folks! 15 cms of fresh powder dumped on our "Fernie Alps" in the last 24 hours. Over night: 8-12 cms progressive, from base to top. Come and bring your FAT skis or a snowboard, because today will be epic.


Snow conditions: Powder on powder, machine groomed powder, and powder on groomed.
Runs: Up to 110 available. 57 groomed!
Lifts: 9 operating. Lift hours: 9:00am - 4:00pm

With a mix of sunshine and fresh snow Fernie visitors are on their way back home with smiles on their faces! Everyone had a great time in Fernie this weekend and will be back for more!

Driving home the other day after a great day of skiing I noticed something way up high circling above town. At first I thought it was a massive bird but then it became clear that this was no bird but a Para-glider swooping and playing in the sky. A local had decided to take a snowmobile trip to the top of the Morrissey range where locals know of a hang gliding ramp mounted at the top of the mountain. Normally you will see gliders in the summer but this brave sole was enjoying a white winter ride down. Like a pro he glided his way down to an open park right in town and still had the biggest smile on his face after his brisk ride down. Now that’s some serious fun!
